Well shit. My teenage niece is coming to visit soon. She just requested we go to a place near here that has about an acre of gems and stones for purchase. She'll have her own spending money for herself but... 🤬 How do I resist the shinies?

Trae Dorn I think I need to take actual cash and leave my cards and phone at home. That way I'll have no choice but to stick to a budget. I'm sure my smöl will also want shinies. She's still got most of the bucket of mini mix she got last time we went, but she'll want new shinies for sure.

Man you made me think though, I would so love to do one of those "mine your own gem/crystal/rocks" places. They might be a little touristy and some of them are like "oooh maybe you can find an emerald or diamond" but I really just want some quartz and some other cool rocks. At first when you said an "acre" I thought that's what you were talking about and I was about to be real jealous.

electricbudgie haha no, not mining your own. Just soooooo many giant tubs full of everything you could possibly want. Plus the 'special' stuff in cabinets indoors. Last time we went my daughter pointed to a cabinet and said "THAT LOOKS LIKE POO!" uh yep. That would be coprolite, my love. That is poo. At least, it was poo once...
